The Crystal Ball, Round Three

Round Three Predictions

There’s a lot of big names missing tonight – you can excuse a few World Open hangovers! – but the Duffield tractor will continue its steamroller ride at Nottingham with a 4-1 win. Lineups are still in doubt at Pontefract, but assuming Willstrop doesn’t play it looks like Birmingham can sneak a 3-2 away win to lift themselves off the bottom of Group A.

St George’s are suffering more than most from missing big names, and Exeter should make up for last time’s disappointment and come away with a 4-1 win. The Winchester v Bristol clash has a few unfamiliar or form-unknown names, so fingers in the air for a 3-2 home win but we really don’t know why.  Surrey are bolstered by Peter Barker at top string and their strength-in-depth should be enough to see them go to the top of the table with a 4-1 win.

Round Two:  4 out of 5 correct, well done Chichester

Dusted down for the new season, the Crystal Ball is gleaming and confident that it has all the answers …

In Group A Duffield look set to maintain their strong start, condemning newcomers Birmingham to two straight defeats with a 4-1 win at the University. Oxford will bounce back to beat Ponte 4-1 in the Yorkshire outfit’s first outing.

Down South Exeter will enjoy the long trip back from Chichester with a 3-2 win under their belts, while the Surrey Machines –  St George’s and H&R – will also enjoy their away days, returning from Bristol and Winchester with 5-0 and 4-1 wins respectively.
